Exhibition "Industrial Giants" in the Museum Zeitreise Strom

Germany's largest special museum on the topic of electricity presents pictures by the Bochum painter Helmut Paulin in the exhibition "Industrial giants in the Ruhr".

Factories, smelting works, collieries and coking plants of gigantic proportions once shaped the Ruhr area. A close-meshed transport network of railways, shipping canals and cable cars connected the systems.
The unique backdrop of smoking chimneys, steel winding towers, blast furnaces, gasometers, huge gas pipelines and cooling towers is mostly history today. Many industrial plants have fallen victim to structural change.
To ensure that they are not forgotten, the painter Helmut Paulin deals with them. The templates for his works are photographs, the content of which he reproduces with a palette of colors that are as muted as possible as an oil painting with an unmistakable appearance. It is particularly important to him to express the mood that has been remembered.
Helmut Paulin was born in Bochum in 1948 and developed his passion for painting while he was still working. From 2008 he intensified it within the group Local Artists Network around Jiny Lan. It was here that he developed his preference for a wide variety of techniques, materials and motifs.
He currently works almost exclusively with oil paints on canvas and, in addition to abstraction and portrait painting, also prefers architecture and landscape painting. His paintings were shown in both individual and group exhibitions in various cities in the Ruhr area. Helmut Paulin lives and works in Witten.
From 21.5. Until September 10.9.2023th, 40, the exhibition in the time travel electricity shows a good XNUMX of his works with a focus on industrial plants on the Ruhr.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on International Museum Day, Sunday, May 21.5.2023, 11.00 at XNUMX a.m. in the museum.
