Exhibition "Sixteen Objects" at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein

Until May 29, 2023: Exhibits from the  Yad Vashem collection of objects for the first time in Germany

At the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Friends of Yad Vashem e. V., the International Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem and the Zollverein Foundation in cooperation with the Ruhr Museum the exhibition Sixteen Objects. It presents exhibits from the Yad Vashem collection, which are returning to Germany for a limited time for the first time in the 70-year history of the Holocaust memorial. The exhibition reminds us that every place in Germany lost part of its history and identity as a result of the Holocaust. The objects stand for countless Jewish lives and communities that were destroyed by National Socialism. The exhibits come from different cities and represent the sixteen federal states of today's Germany. This is a reminder that every place in Germany lost part of its history, its identity, through the Holocaust. The NRW object comes from Essen.
