The unique Zollverein ice rink in Essen
The popular ice rink at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen opens for the winter season on December 6th! Ice skating enthusiasts have the unique opportunity to skate among the imposing coke ovens and chimneys of the Zollverein coking plant. Highlights this year include the ice disco with a spectacular light and music show, and curling, which offers plenty of fun for groups.
Everyone can have fun together on the 150-meter-long ice rink. The ice surface is also accessible for wheelchairs, rehab buggies, and mobility aids. Assistance penguins are also available for children. Particularly impressive in the evening: the light installation by Mark Major and Jonathan Speirs bathes the striking industrial backdrop in atmospheric light.
A highlight is the Ice disco It takes place on December 13th and January 3rd. Here you can dance, slide, and party until midnight. The popular event offers the perfect group outing for up to 12 people. Icestockschiessen on a total of four lanes. Time slots can be booked. here can be booked online.
