It's buzzing at the Henrichshütte!

Discover the world of insects and industrial nature on Garden Day at the Henrichshütte in Hattingen

On June 11th, the LWL-Museum Henrichshütte opens its doors for free taster offers around the special exhibition "Industrial Insects".

After the decline of heavy industry in the Ruhr area and the resulting structural change, research into "industrial nature" is becoming increasingly important. Even though the insects have recaptured many places, the population is steadily declining and biodiversity is under threat.

The world of insects can be explored and discovered anywhere on the Henrichshütte site if you keep your ears and eyes open. Accompanied by hands-on activities, the exhibition is dedicated to "Industrial Insects" following questions: But why are insects actually important? What can they do and why? And which species are native to the LWL museums for industrial culture?

In the open studio from 13 to 15 p.m. you can help with gardening and planting and make seed balls.
