“Myth of the Forest” – New exhibition at the Gasometer Oberhausen
The Gasometer Oberhausen has announced its new exhibition "Myth of the Forest." Starting March 20, 2026, the Gasometer will present the new exhibition "Myth of the Forest" – a striking journey through the world's forests. It will feature impressive images, films, and installations, including a 40-meter-tall light tree and the sound installation "Global Sunrise."
"Myth of the Forest" offers an intensive look at the forests of our earth – emotional, surprising, captivating, explanatory, and always scientifically sound. In various exhibition chapters, the Gasometer shows forest areas from Brazil to the Congo and Europe, dedicating itself to the unique diversity of flora and fauna, as well as to the
Indigenous peoples whose habitat in the forest is becoming increasingly smaller. Of course, the exhibition also documents the dramatic consequences of the destruction of this vital ecosystem through slash-and-burn agriculture, for example, with science-based presentations by ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute).
Until November 30th “Planet Ocean” can be seen in the Gasometer Oberhausen, where you can immerse yourself in fascinating marine worlds.
