“Planet Ocean” hits the million mark – record attendance at the Gasometer Oberhausen

It's official: After only eleven months welcomed the Gasometer Oberhausen seinen one millionth guest the exhibition “Planet Ocean” This impressive show is one of the most successful exhibitions in Germany and underlines the reputation of the Gasometer as one of the most important exhibition halls in the country.

The happy anniversary guests were celebrated Nadine Kortüm and Janek Bockhoffwho had travelled from Billerbeck especially for the occasion. Due to the large number of visitors, they had decided to postpone the first visit last year – a decision that more than paid off: millionth visitor They were presented with an exhibition catalogue, a bouquet of flowers and a very special experience – an exclusive Picnic on the roof of the Gasometer, with a view of the sunset over the area.

The Süddeutsche Zeitung called “Planet Ocean” one of the most successful exhibitions in Germany in October 2024 and praised the Gasometer as "the most successful exhibition hall far and wide." By breaking the million mark, the building moves into the Top 5 most visited museums in the country – an impressive milestone for Oberhausen and the entire region.
