Biking on the canal

The 34-kilometer route leads from the Henrichenburg ship lift along the Dortmund-Ems Canal to the Hansa coking plant in Dortmund-Huckarde. Herbert Niewerth accompanies the tour and shortens the time with numerous exciting facts and stories from the period of industrialization in the Ruhr area. Once at the coking plant, the group refreshes itself with a small picnic (please bring your own) before exploring the industrial monument. After the return trip to the boat lift, the participants look together at the current special exhibition “Daily Pictures for the Revier. Press photographs by Helmut Orwat 1960 – 1992”.
