Romantic Christmas market in the LWL open-air museum in Hagen
On the first weekend in December there is a Christmas market in one of the most beautiful museums in the Ruhr area. In the LWL open-air museum in Hagen, more than 85 hand-picked exhibitors show sophisticated and decorative items made of paper, wool, fabric, wood, glass and metal in the illuminated half-timbered houses and decorated huts. The museum brings over 200 years of craft history to life: visitors have the opportunity to learn about working techniques that have often been almost forgotten and can also try their hand at making paper, mowing with a scythe or casting metal.
Musically, the Christmas market is accompanied live by choirs and orchestras, alphorns as well as Christmas jazz and pop. Santa Claus doesn't miss out on the festive fun either and visits the Christmas market every afternoon.
