In 2023, the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Villa Hügel and the surrounding park in Essen with a wide range of programs ranging from lectures to open-air concerts.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Hügelpark and the villa can be visited free of charge on every first Friday of the month this year. The villa and park are open from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m.
In addition to the imposing Villa Hügel and the surrounding 28-hectare park, visitors* can view the transmedia real-time installation "Kontraste" by the artist duo joeressen+kessner from sunset.
Visitors can fortify themselves on site: a small hunger can be satisfied at a food truck. In addition to coffee specialties and lemonades, there are cakes, paninis and soup. The food truck is available daily from 11 a.m. to 17 p.m.
