Winter fun on the Zollverein ice rink
After a year's break last season, ice skating fans can once again look forward to the wonderful Zollverein ice rink in front of the impressive industrial backdrop of the Zollverein coking plant in the winter of 2023/2024. From December 9th, 2023 to January 7th, 2024, you can glide along 150 meters along the impressive coke ovens and chimneys of the Zollverein coking plant. In the evening, a light installation creates an atmospheric atmosphere and in the small winter village, cozy stands offer refreshments with hot drinks and snacks.
What is new here is the inclusive running times in every first opening hour, during which special consideration is required. Because then people with disabilities glide over the smooth surface of the coking plant together with other ice skating fans.
Ice disco
On December 16, 2023 and January 6, 2024, visitors can visit the Ice disco from 20 p.m. to midnight, skate to disco classics from three decades and enjoy the unique ambience of the former coking plant.
Icestockschiessen
That too Icestockschiessen is back as a popular winter sport at Zollverein. A maximum of 12 people per lane can hold social competitions between families, private groups and colleagues on a total of eight lanes.
