DASA world of work exhibition

The award-winning adventure exhibition of the DASA World of Work Exhibition in Dortmund deals with the diverse aspects of the relationship between people, technology and work, which has strongly shaped the Ruhr area as a growing mining and industrial region. At the same time, modern working environments and aspects of digitization are also deliberately taken up. The exhibition concept is based on sensual experience, "tangible" experiences and multimedia discovery.

The DASA working world exhibition finally found its actual beginnings in a decree of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs from 1980: The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and Accident Research (BAU) in Dortmund was commissioned to set up a permanent exhibition for occupational safety. 1993 saw the partial opening of DASA; since 2000 the exhibition has been presented in twelve exhibition units.

Visitors experience the working worlds of yesterday, today and tomorrow in multimedia, for example on the flight or truck simulator, but also “hands on”: driving an excavator, in a walk-in ambulance from Dortmund or in the “DASA-Drom”, right through the middle runs a warehouse. Extraordinary temporary exhibitions regularly set visitor records.
