In a former Art Nouveau indoor pool in Duisburg, several
rooms and a museum full of shipping history on three floors
from the Stone Age to the present. The Museum of the German
Inland navigation, or inland navigation museum, not only captivates
through many detailed models and exhibits, but above all through the
plastic effect when entering some of the ships on display.
The cargo glider Goede is located in the former men's swimming pool
Verwachting from 1913 while in the former
Women's swimming pool, the walk-in replica of an inland waterway ship.
But even in addition to the prominent exhibits, there is plenty to see
explore what may not be the focus of attention at first glance
would. Life on board as well as the everyday life of both the boatmen and
families on water and on land are also conveyed here in an impressive manner.
In short, you can learn pretty much everything there is about the German language here
Inland shipping to know.
Nevertheless, the museum is suitable for all ages and thanks to the
barrier-free design also accessible for wheelchair users.
