The Ruhr Visitor Center is located on the 24-meter level of the former coal washing plant of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen and can only be reached via a 55-meter-long gangway. Visitors and interested parties can obtain comprehensive information here about the entire cultural and tourist offer of the Industrial Heritage Route, the Ruhr Metropolis and the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site.

RVR Visitor Center Hoheward

In the Hoheward Visitor Center in the former payroll and lighting hall of the Ewald colliery in Herten, visitors can find out everything they need to know about the Industrial Heritage Route and the Hoheward Landscape Park. From April to October, an additional information point on Cranger Strasse in Recklinghausen, right next to the Emscher Park Cycle Path, is open on weekends and public holidays. Since 2014, the permanent exhibition "New Horizons - On the Traces of Time" has been dedicated to the connections between astronomy and hard coal.

The gateway to the Emscher Landscape Park: The RVR visitor center in Haus Ripshorst in Oberhausen provides detailed information about the region between Duisburg and Hamm and is also the starting point for guided tours and excursions on the subject of industrial nature. It regularly hosts exhibitions on the Ruhr area and other topics.
