Cycling Summer of Industrial Heritage – Industrial heritage meets cycling fun in Recklinghausen
On June 14 and 15, 2025, the Ruhr Regional Association and the Museum Zeitreise Strom invite you to the Bicycle Summer of Industrial Heritage at the Recklinghausen substation. The occasion is the 25th anniversary of the popular Museum Zeitreise Strom, which will be celebrated with a varied program.
The event combines tried-and-tested elements: discovering industrial heritage and experiencing cycling. A "mile" of industrial heritage with a tented roof landscape invites you to browse – featuring the Route Industrial Heritage, networks from North Rhine-Westphalia, and numerous tourist information centers. Among other things, the most beautiful cycling routes along the Route Industrial Heritage and the radrevier.ruhr will be presented.
Families and children can look forward to a varied entertainment program centered around cycling, while the substation itself is intensively integrated into the program with tours, activities for children and other highlights.
The Bicycle Summer will be part of the Recklinghausen Harbor Festival in 2025, creating a unique atmosphere with walk-through acts, railing banners, and an atmospheric connection between the harbor and the substation. Catering options in the harbor area and the café in the substation will provide refreshments.
Look forward to a weekend full of industrial culture, cycling fun, and family experiences in Recklinghausen!
