Industrial culture’s bicycle summer celebrated a new start
The "Bicycle Summer of Industrial Culture" returned on May 22nd after a two-year break. For one day, the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum was once again all about bicycles and industrial culture and attracted many visitors in the best cycling weather. Among other things, the latest trends and the most beautiful cycle paths in the region were presented. The "Mile of Industrial Culture" also provided information about the current events and activities of the anchor points. In addition to spectacular bike performances, there was a stage program for the whole family! We look forward to the next edition of the Bicycle Summer!

BICYCLE SUMMER 2024 – The ideal start to the cycling season
Experience the region's industrial heritage of coal and steel, striking places, viewpoints and settlements typical of the area: This is what the Industrial Culture Route offers by bike!
The bike route will make a really big appearance on June 09th - at the Bicycle Summer of Industrial Culture at the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum. Just in time for the anniversary of the Industrial Culture Route, this traditional event is back in full swing with a varied program.
The Bicycle Summer of Industrial Culture offers a lot of information, action and entertainment with free admission: art bike show, beatboxing and numerous exhibitors - from specialist shops to e-bike providers, ensure an all-round successful cycling experience in front of the impressive backdrop of the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum. In addition to new products and current trends, the focus is primarily on cycle tourism offers. In addition, anchor points and network partners of the route present themselves on the “Mile of Industrial Culture”. The family festival is organized every year by the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR) and Bochumer Veranstaltungs-GmbH.

Summer Tours - Guided bike tours
In the anniversary year of the Industrial Culture Route, in addition to the “Bicycle Summer of Industrial Culture” on June 9th, a 9-day guided bike tour is planned at the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum. The focus here is on the newly designed circuit of the Industrial Culture Route (300 km circuit) by bike and fourteen anchor points that are directly connected to the circuit.
Cycling enthusiasts are invited to cycle from anchor point to anchor point for nine days in a row!
