Tours - route by bike
The wide-meshed network of the Route of Industrial Culture by Bike is signposted as part of the red and white signposting in North Rhine-Westphalia with its own route signet: a red logo with a winding tower. Within this network, the "premium route of industrial culture by bike" connects the absolute highlights of industrial culture in the Ruhr Metropolis over a distance of a good 300 kilometers, including the "cradle of mining" - the Nachtigall colliery in Witten -, the Bochum Centennial Hall and the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein in Essen. A total of 14 of the 27 anchor points on the route are approached directly. The circuit also includes nine former railway lines, spectacular bridge constructions and nature experiences on the Emscher, Lippe and Ruhr.
