Discover the industrial history of the Zollverein World Heritage Site:
On a guided tour, you'll experience what was once the world's largest coal mine and Europe's largest central coking plant. Gigantic machines and impressive facilities vividly illustrate the working and living conditions of the miners and coking plant workers, as well as the transformation from an industrial site to today's UNESCO World Heritage Site and cultural landmark. Tickets are available in the ticket shop (see top right) and on-site at the Ruhr Visitor Center and the Coking Plant Information Point.
For detailed information on the different guided tours, please visit the Zollverein World Heritage Site website.
Heads-up:
The guided tours are currently only partially suitable for people with mobility issues, as they lead through the original, preserved above-ground facilities of the former Zollverein Coal Mine. If you require accessibility, please contact us at visitorservice@zollverein.de (weekdays) or by calling 0201 246810 so that we can find a solution together.
