With around 6.000 exhibits, the permanent exhibition of the Ruhr Museum about the fascinating natural and cultural history of the Ruhr area - from the emergence of coal to the structural change to become the Ruhr metropolis. But there is also a lot to discover outside the museum at Zollverein: more than 60 species of birds, over 40 species of wild bees and various rare amphibians are at home on the world heritage site.
