Inconspicuous from the outside, intense self-awareness from the inside: LA PRIMAVERA, spring, is the name of the permanently installed work of art in the former boiler ash bunker on shaft XII by the German-American Maria Nordman. You can only enter one at a time and cannot be seen from the outside. You enter an empty, white room into which the light of the sun only penetrates through a small gap. Alone in space and time, only the self is present, peace and reflection arise. The area surrounding the boiler ash bunker is also part of the work of art: Ginkgo and sequoia trees are planted on a lawn around it - trees as old as the coal that was mined at Zollverein.
