Making good design tangible and the quality of everyday objects understandable – that is the mission of the Red Dot Design Museum. With around 2.000 exhibits, the presentation covers the entire range of current product design: from robots to coffee machines and furniture to gyrocopters hanging from the ceiling. Only products that have been recognized by an international jury of experts in one of the world's largest design competitions - the Red Dot Design Award - are presented on a good 4.000 square meters. Thematic special exhibitions complement the inspiring insight into the world of design.

Guided tour on the path of the coal and through the Ruhr Museum On a double shift in the former coal wash: The largest building in the Zollverein colliery, the coal wash, is now a central place for the history of the Ruhr area.
