The Ruhrtriennale 2023 has started!
From August 10th to September 23rd, the festival of the arts will feature a large number of former industrial monuments in the cities of Bochum, Dortmund, Duisburg and Essen.
Under the direction of artistic director and director Barbara Frey, the halls, coking plants, machine houses and dumps of the mining and steel industries become unmistakable protagonists for the festival. The program is located at the interface between musical theatre, drama, dance, performance, concerts and the fine arts. For 34 productions, 600 artists from all over the world come together for the festival in the Ruhr area.
The program of this year's Ruhrtriennale starts on August 10th with the opening premiere of Shakespeare's “A Midsummer Night's Dream” at the Kraftzentrale in the Landscape Park Duisburg-Nord.
