NEW NOW Digital Arts Festival
From June 1st to August 6th, the mixing plant at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein will be transformed into a spectacular exhibition and festival site
The festival for digital arts takes place under the title "Hypernatural Forces". The focus of the exhibition and the diverse program is the powerful interaction between nature and digitality.
For months, seven resident artists have dealt intensively with the history, architecture and significance of the Zollverein World Heritage Site in Essen and worked on their works, all world premieres. In the exhibition "Hypernatural Forces" technical knowledge and organic life are combined and nature becomes art.
Program
The NEW NOW Festival kicks off from June 1st to 4th, 2023: The Opening Weekend starts with the Immersive Sound Night, continues with the NEW NOW conference on June 2nd, which explores how digitization is changing our understanding of nature and in the ThinkHalle on June 3rd and 4th, where you can experience unique prototypes.
With the satellite NEW NOW visits the initiatives, venues, collectives and institutions that have been based here for the duration of the festival and show their artistic work status, research and heart projects.
