"Did you know?" - There are short guided tours in the Bochum Mining Museum

Events are offered in the German Mining Museum in Bochum in March. Under the slogan "Did you know?", for example, visitors receive special insights into the permanent exhibition as part of short tours.

The German Mining Museum Bochum offers a wide variety of guided tours, educational formats and events in the demonstration mine and in the four tours of the permanent exhibition. In addition, the Bochum band WalzWerk offers a varied musical evening with German progressive rock as part of the late shift.

Visitors can gain special insights into the permanent exhibition by taking part in a short tour free of charge: Under the slogan "Did you know?" the series of events always illuminates a specific topic of the permanent exhibition in compact 15 minutes. The costs are already included in the entrance fee and only registration is required.

Short tour "Did you know?": Real guys - masculinity(s) and body cult in artistic depictions of mining

Naked upper bodies, swelling muscles: there are still “real guys” in the “Art” tour of the permanent exhibition. However, why this is more of an ideal than reality, what health has to do with identity and why climbers used to wear wasp waists - all this is explored in this short guide.

Short tour “Did you know?”: Humpback mines – mining in your backpack

Manufactured with painstaking detail work, miniature mines are real small works of art. But why did miners go to all this trouble in earlier times, and why are such boxes also called humpback mines? In the "Art" tour, this edition of "Did you know?" leads to the filigree handicrafts.
