STAHL·ZEIT·REISEN – IN THE RUHR AREA AND IN SOUTH WESTPHALIA

Stahl·Zeit·Reisen is a cooperation between WasserEisenLand - Industrial Culture in South Westphalia and the Route Industrial Culture of the Ruhr Area. The project shows how closely the development of these two neighboring industrial regions is linked.

Stahl·Zeit·Reisen links the technology routes "Route of industrial culture" in the Ruhr area and "WasserEisenLand - Industriekultur in Südwestfalen" and takes those interested to the most exciting places of industrial history in both regions - from the earliest beginnings to the present.

The LWL Industrial Museum Henrichshütte Hattingen is the multimedia information center of Stahl·Zeit·Reisen: With a walk-on map and touchscreen steles. 34 highlights and 68 other destinations can be controlled via it. The project also includes a website with radio play dialogues, an overview map and boxes with tips for trips to neighboring regions.

With the unique Stahl·Zeit·Reise (steel·time·journey) those interested can go on a journey into the past. Accompanied by the fictitious protagonists Luise and Alfred, the travelers go to the "Land of a Thousand Mountains" and the "Ruhrpott" of the 19th century.
