World heritage on the catwalk: Grubenhelden presents the new Zollverein collection

The fashion label “Grubenhelden” presented the first “ Zollverein ” collection in cooperation with the Zollverein Foundation at a fashion show in Hall 8 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Gladbeck fashion label Grubenhelden opened a store in Hall 2018 at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site in 12 and has now dedicated an entire collection of hoodies, T-shirts and accessories to the extraordinary industrial monument. A special homage is the reference to mining: the rust red of the iconic headframe, verses of the Steigerlied or the material of miners' shirts make up the “ Zollverein ” collection.

“We are proud of the first Zollverein collection and the collaboration with the mining heroes,” says Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Noll, Chairman of the Zollverein Foundation at the opening of the fashion show. “They have had their store here at Zollverein since 2018 and tell the story of the Ruhr area far beyond the borders of the Ruhr metropolis - all the way to the catwalks of New York Fashion Week. For me, the collection is a special homage to the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site and I am very pleased that Zollverein has now become part of this unique fashion label.”

Matthias Bohm, managing director of Grubenhelden, is also enthusiastic about the joint collection: “ Zollverein is gigantic. That's why we approached the designs of the new garments with the necessary respect. We are proud of the result and are already looking forward to further editions – after all, Zollverein still has many stories to tell.”
